Jimy Sloan of Prospect, Nova Scotia, assembles elements of topography, combining with drawn form, creating a unique visual vocabulary.  A process-oriented approach to painting and an investigation into materials and pigmentation has created visually rich canvas panels, textured environments and abstracted form.

Sloan completed a BFA an NSCAD University in 2012, followed by the NSCAD New Glasgow residency program in 2021. In addition to Studio 21, he is represented in Montreal by Han Modern and Contemporary Gallery.  His work can be found in collections across North America.
