Visual Arts News invites all Atlantic Canadian print media/paper-based artists to create new works for our Special 40^th Anniversary Edition of the magazine. The bonus issue is scheduled to be released in December 2017.

We will commission up to three artists to create new work that focuses on the theme of “connecting the past and the future”.

ELIGIBILITY: Open to all Atlantic Canadian print/paper-based artists. Accepted work will be printed (1000 copies) and inserted into the magazine for distribution.  We are open to a variety of formats but you must describe how the paper work will be inserted/bound into the magazine.

FEES: Artists will receive an honorarium of $500. Plus materials costs (up to $500)

SUBMISSIONS must include:

• Short description/sketches of proposed work including how it will be inserted into the magazine
• Budget for materials
• 5 – 10 images of previous work (jpegs or link to a website)
• Artist statement and CV

DEADLINE: Submissions must be received by email to vanews@visualarts.ns.ca on or before 5:00 pm, on Wednesday March 1, 2017.
