Guy Arsenault is an acadian artist famous for his poetry and the ground breaking publication Acadie Rock (Éditions d’Acadie, 1973). He is also known in the community for his gouache paintings and hand printed zines, which he would sell out of his characteristic canvas shoulder bag. Saynètes dans la picture window, curated by his daughter, artist Maryse Arseneault, will be accompanied by the publication of an artist book. Both the exhibition and the publication offer an intimate look into her father’s creative process and include sketches and paintings gathered from the many collectors of his work. Born in Moncton in 1959, Guy Arsenault still lives in Parkton, the predominantly French neighbourhood often depicted in his urban landscapes.
